I draw feelings, emotions, and things that I need to understand, there is a need to translate in my own way everything that goes through me.
Vital Lordelo Neto, (Brasília, 1984)
Self-taught artist, he studied drawing and painting in his adolescence, studied Journalism in 2004, and advertising in 2005, but he didn’t finish any of the graduations. He Moved to Porto Alegre where he returned to his artistic production in 2006, creating drawings, paintings and collages. In 2007, he starts to put his works in public spaces.
In 2009, he started to have works at Mini Galeria in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. During the same year he is selected for the show Entre Outros in Sao Paulo, a collective of 21 artists a cut of the new generation. project: + SOMA – Nike Brazil. He participated in the “Cow Parade” Trensurb Market Station, in Porto Alegre, Brazil.
In 2012, he printed in silkscreen the poster Há coragem sempre agora, starting its process of mass production.
He dedicates himself to the production of posters, stickers, stamps, woodcuts and silkscreens.
In 2015 he made A Rua que dá no museu, his solo exhibition in Porto Alegre and the same year, he was nominated for the 9th Açorianos Award of Fine Arts of Rio Grande do Sul, in the Print category.
In 2016, he was selected for an international exhibition, Paratissima Lisboa, in the neighborhood of Santa Maria Maior in the city of Lisbon. His work 18 posters were installed as an urban art intervention on display. The same year, he returned to the Portuguese capital to study drawing and improve his production.
In 2017, three of his works entered the Collection of MAC-RS in Porto Alegre/Brazil.
In Lisbon, his work were showed in an exhibition at Casa dos Mundos in the Portuguese capital. In this period he also developed more posters, drawings, paintings and began tattooing.
In 2019, he was part of an educational project that ended up becoming a group exhibition: “10×15 momentos de não calar”. In this project, his work has been exhibited and revisited by the students of the school. The exhibition was selected for a show at the cultural center of the UFRGS in Porto Alegre, where he turned into a guest artist. The exhibition has been nominated and received the award for Educational Action in the XIII Açorianos Award for Plastic Arts.
